The JET Program Alumni Association (JETAA) is an alumni association created in 1989 to strengthen and maintain the bonds of friendship developed between JET Program participants. JETAA has 50,000 alumni across 50 chapters in 15 different countries. Being one of the largest growing alumni associations in the world, chapters are supported by JETAA International (JETAAi). The 19 JETAA chapters in the United States comprise JETAA USA under the JETAAi umbrella.
The purpose of JETAA USA is to support the JET Program and its memberhsip. Chapters throughout the United States work with local Japanese consulates, as well as community and cultural organizations to provide departure and re-entry services for those leaving and returning from the JET Program, including but not limited to:
- recruitment
- interviews
- training
- job fairs
- language classes
Our goals is to promote a broader and deeper understanding between Japan and the United States through our local chapter activities. JETAA USA chapters play an important role in the promotion of Japan and Japanese culture in the form of community, cultural and social events.
JETAA USA is administered by three Country Representatives who provide a central point of communication between the 19 U.S. chapters and our international governing authorities and represents U.S. chapters for international meetings and conferences. We facilitate the exchange of resources, knowledge and talent, as well as promote chapters and alumni throughout the United States.
